* bus: replace sd_bus_label_{escape,unescape}() by new ↵Lennart Poettering2014-03-11
| | | | | | | | | | | sd_bus_path_{encode,decode}() The new calls work similarly, but enforce a that a common, fixed bus path prefix is used. This follows discussions with Simon McVittie on IRC that it should be a good idea to make sure that people don't use the escaping applied here too wildly as anything other than the last label of a bus path.

* sd-daemon: introduce sd_watchdog_enabled() for parsing $WATCHDOG_USECLennart Poettering2013-12-22
| | | | | | | | Also, introduce a new environment variable named $WATCHDOG_PID which cotnains the PID of the process that is supposed to send the keep-alive events. This is similar how $LISTEN_FDS and $LISTEN_PID work together, and protects against confusing processes further down the process tree due to inherited environment.
* man: fix make installMarc-Antoine Perennou2013-12-22
| | | | | commit 5b04fe60004e7c5cd5a43648ede3e6a965e70b8c broke it with ‘./man/sd_session_is_remote.3’: No such file or directory

* build-sys: add xml sources to EXTRA_DISTZbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek2013-12-21
| | | | | | Apparently automake does not include the sources if they are under a conditional that is disabled when making dist. This means that everything would have to be enabled to make distcheck work.

* bus: make sd_bus_request_name() and sd_bus_release_name() behave more like ↵Lennart Poettering2013-12-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | other calls Instead of returning an enum of return codes, make them return error codes like kdbus does internally. Also, document this behaviour so that clients can stick to it. (Also rework bus-control.c to always have to functions for dbus1 vs. kernel implementation of the various calls.)

* socket-proxyd: rename from saproxyLennart Poettering2013-10-18
| | | | | | | | | The thing is a daemon, hence needs a "d" prefix. Also, we tend to not abbreviate names of background components unnecessarily, since they are not primary commands people type. Then, the fact that this thing does socket actviation is mostly in implementationd detail for the proxy. Also, do some minor indenting clean-ups and other code updates.
* Rename sabridge to saproxy to be less crypticDavid Strauss2013-10-15

* Add sabridge for socket activation of traditional daemonsDavid Strauss2013-10-15
|
* rfkill: add new rfkill tool to save/restore rfkill state across rebootsLennart Poettering2013-10-14
| | | | This works analogous to the existing backlight and random seed services
* man: drop references to "cgroup" wher appropriateLennart Poettering2013-09-27
| | | | | | | | | | | Since cgroups are mostly now an implementation detail of systemd lets deemphasize it a bit in the man pages. This renames systemd.cgroup(5) to systemd.resource-control(5) and uses the term "resource control" rather than "cgroup" where appropriate. This leaves the word "cgroup" in at a couple of places though, like for example systemd-cgtop and systemd-cgls where cgroup stuff is at the core of what is happening.
* sd-login: add a public accessor for the VT numberGiovanni Campagna2013-09-11
| | | | | The VT number was already part of the DBus API, but was not exposed in the C API.

* build-sys: remove SD_JOURNAL_SYSTEM_ONLY(3) from MakefileZbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek2013-06-10
|
* journal: add sd_journal_open_filesZbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek2013-06-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | This allows the caller to explicitly specify which journal files should be opened. The same functionality could be achieved before by creating a directory and playing around with symlinks. It is useful to debug stuff and explore the journal, and has been requested before. Waiting is supported, the journal will notice modifications on the files supplied when opening the journal, but will not add any new files.
* journal: add ability to filter by current userZbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek2013-06-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is the just the library part. SD_JOURNAL_CURRENT_USER flags is added to sd_j_open(), to open files from current user. SD_JOURNAL_SYSTEM_ONLY is renamed to SD_JOURNAL_SYSTEM, and changed to mean to (also) open system files. This way various flags can be combined, which gives them nicer semantics, especially if other ones are added later. Backwards compatibility is kept, because SD_JOURNAL_SYSTEM_ONLY is equivalent to SD_JOURNAL_SYSTEM if used alone, and before there we no other flags.
* utmp: turn systemd-update-utmp-shutdown.service into a normal runtime serviceLennart Poettering2013-05-16
| | | | | | | | | | With this change systemd-update-utmp-shutdown.service is replaced by systemd-update-utmp.service which is started at boot and stays around until shutdown. This allows us to properly order the unit against both /var/log and auditd. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=853104 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64365
* units: rework systemd-random-seed-{load,save}.service to be a single serviceLennart Poettering2013-05-15
| | | | | | That way ordering it with MountsRequiredFor= works properly, as this no longer results in mount units start requests to be added to the shutdown transaction that conflict with stop requests for the same unit.
* systemd-sleep: add support for freeze and standbyZbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek2013-05-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A new config file /etc/systemd/sleep.conf is added. It is parsed by systemd-sleep and logind. The strings written to /sys/power/disk and /sys/power/state can be configured. This allows people to use different modes of suspend on systems with broken or special hardware. Configuration is shared between systemd-sleep and logind to enable logind to answer the question "can the system be put to sleep" as correctly as possible without actually invoking the action. If the user configured systemd-sleep to only use 'freeze', but current kernel does not support it, logind will properly report that the system cannot be put to sleep. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57793 https://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=commit;h=7e73c5ae6e7991a6c01f6d096ff8afaef4458c36 http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd-devel/2013-February/009238.html SYSTEM_CONFIG_FILE and USER_CONFIG_FILE defines were removed since they were used in only a few places and with the addition of /etc/systemd/sleep.conf it becomes easier to just append the name of each file to the dir name.
