* Shared: Provide custom isURI that rejects unknown schemes [isURI]Albert Krewinkel2017-05-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We also export the set of known `schemes`. The new function replaces the function of the same name from `Network.URI`, as the latter did not check whether a scheme is well-known. E.g. MediaWiki wikis frequently feature pages with names like `User:John`. These links were interpreted as URIs, thus turning internal links into global links. This is prevented by also checking whether the scheme of a URI is frequently used (i.e. is IANA registered or an otherwise well-known scheme). Fixes: #2713 Update set of well-known URIs from IANA list All official IANA schemes (as of 2017-05-22) are included in the set of known schemes. The four non-official schemes doi, isbn, javascript, and pmid are kept.

* Revert "Added page breaks into Pandoc."John MacFarlane2017-01-25
| | | | This reverts commit f02a12aff638fa2339192231b8f601bffdfe3e14.
* Convert all writers to use PandocMonad.Jesse Rosenthal2017-01-25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since PandocMonad is an instance of MonadError, this will allow us, in a future commit, to change all invocations of `error` to `throwError`, which will be preferable for the pure versions. At the moment, we're disabling the lua custom writers (this is temporary). This requires changing the type of the Writer in Text.Pandoc. Right now, we run `runIOorExplode` in pandoc.hs, to make the conversion easier. We can switch it to the safer `runIO` in the future. Note that this required a change to Text.Pandoc.PDF as well. Since running an external program is necessarily IO, we can be clearer about using PandocIO.
* Adds support for pagebreaks (when it makes sense)Hubert Plociniczak2017-01-25
| | | | | | | Update all writers to take into account page breaks. A straightforwad, far from complete, implementation of page breaks in selected writers. Readers will have to follow in the future as well.
* Options: Removed writerStandalone, made writerTemplate a Maybe.John MacFarlane2016-11-30
| | | | | | | | Previously setting writerStandalone = True did nothing unless a template was provided in writerTemplate. Now a fragment will be generated if writerTemplate is Nothing; otherwise, the specified template will be used and standalone output generated. [API change]
* Add support for the LineBlock element to writersAlbert Krewinkel2016-10-13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The following markup features are used to output the lines of the `LineBlock` element: - AsciiDoc: a `[verse]` block, - ConTeXt: text surrounded by `\startlines` and `\endlines`, - HTML: `div` with an per-element style setting to interpret the content as pre-wrapped, - Markdown: line blocks if the `line_blocks` extension is enabled, a simple paragraph with hard linebreaks otherwise, - Org: VERSE block, - RST: a line block, and - all other formats: a paragraph, containing hard linebreaks between lines. Custom lua writers should be updated to use the `LineBlock` element.
* MediaWiki writer: fix spacing issues.John MacFarlane2016-01-02
| | | | | | | | | + Start cell on new line unless it's a single Para or Plain. + For single Para or Plain, insert a space after the `|` to avoid problems when the text begins with a character like `-`. Closes #2604, closes #2606.
* Implemented SoftBreak and new `--wrap` option.John MacFarlane2015-12-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added threefold wrapping option. * Command line option: deprecated `--no-wrap`, added `--wrap=[auto|none|preserve]` * Added WrapOption, exported from Text.Pandoc.Options * Changed type of writerWrapText in WriterOptions from Bool to WrapOption. * Modified Text.Pandoc.Shared functions for SoftBreak. * Supported SoftBreak in writers. * Updated tests. * Updated README. Closes #1701.

|\ | | | | update syntax for Images/Media files in MediaWiki
| * update syntax for Images/Media files in MediaWikiGreg Rundlett2015-02-05
| | | | | | The preferred syntax for Images and other media is [[File:Foo.jpg]] in MediaWiki since v1.14 (2008). [[Image:Foo.jpg]] is deprecated but still works as an alias to the File namespace. I don't think this would break any existing wikis since talk of switching the syntax/namespace for images started back in 2002 (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T2044). NS_FILE became the new namespace for Files in v 1.14 in late 2008. (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Release_notes/1.14) There is still a namespace alias so '[[Image:]]' still works today. It's just that MediaWiki supports other media as well, and so the name and syntax used in documentation (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Images) has long been '[[File:foo.jpg]]'
* | Append newline to the LineBreak of various writersTim Lin2015-02-04
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | This change improves output formatting of content with a large amount of force line breaks, such as line-blocks. The following writers are affected: * Dokuwiki * HTML * EPUB (via HTML) * LaTeX * MediaWiki * OpenDocument * Texinfo This commit resolves #1924
* MediaWiki writer: Fixed links with URL = text.John MacFarlane2014-12-19
| | | | | | | Previously these were rendered as bare words, even if the URL was not an absolute URL. Closes #1825.
* Mediawiki writer: don't escape inside `<source>`.John MacFarlane2014-07-29
| | | | | Closes #1445. Escapes can still be used with `<code>` and `<pre>`.

* HLint: redundant parensHenry de Valence2013-12-19
| | | | Remove parens enclosing a single element.
* Adjusted writers and tests for change in parsing of div/span.John MacFarlane2013-08-18
| | | | | Textile, MediaWiki, Markdown, Org, RST will emit raw HTML div tags for divs. Otherwise Div and Span are "transparent" block containers.
* Adjustments for new Format newtype.John MacFarlane2013-08-10
|
* Preliminary support for new Div and Span elements in writers.John MacFarlane2013-08-08
| | | | | Currently these are "transparent" containers, except in HTML, where they produce div and span elements with attributes.
* MediaWiki writer: Use native mediawiki tables instead of HTML.John MacFarlane2013-08-03
| | | | Closes #720.
* Created Text.Pandoc.Writers.Shared, improved metaToJSON.John MacFarlane2013-07-01
| | | | | | | * Text.Pandoc.Writers.Shared contains shared functions used only in writers. * metaToJSON now takes a WriterOptions parameter, and will return an empty object if standalone is not specified.
* Metadata changes: Variables now completely shadow metadata.John MacFarlane2013-06-29
| | | | | | | | | Previously if you set a value both in metadata and with a variable, they'd be combined into a list. Now the variable replaces the value in document metadata. If many variables with the same name are set, a list is created. Shared: metaToJSON now has an argument for a variable list.
* Writers: Use defField for defaults.John MacFarlane2013-06-27
| | | | | | | This way explicitly specified fields not overridden. Fixes a problem e.g. with specifying a documentclass via the command line using -V.
* Use new flexible metadata type.John MacFarlane2013-06-24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Depend on pandoc 1.12. * Added yaml dependency. * `Text.Pandoc.XML`: Removed `stripTags`. (API change.) * `Text.Pandoc.Shared`: Added `metaToJSON`. This will be used in writers to create a JSON object for use in the templates from the pandoc metadata. * Revised readers and writers to use the new Meta type. * `Text.Pandoc.Options`: Added `Ext_yaml_title_block`. * Markdown reader: Added support for YAML metadata block. Note that it must come at the beginning of the document. * `Text.Pandoc.Parsing.ParserState`: Replace `stateTitle`, `stateAuthors`, `stateDate` with `stateMeta`. * RST reader: Improved metadata. Treat initial field list as metadata when standalone specified. Previously ALL fields "title", "author", "date" in field lists were treated as metadata, even if not at the beginning. Use `subtitle` metadata field for subtitle. * `Text.Pandoc.Templates`: Export `renderTemplate'` that takes a string instead of a compiled template.. * OPML template: Use 'for' loop for authors. * Org template: '#+TITLE:' is inserted before the title. Previously the writer did this.
* Use 'fig:' instead of '\SOH' in title to indicate figure.John MacFarlane2013-01-15
| | | | Revises 1a4b47e93368bfbd31daccdfedbd9527ee740201
* Implemented Ext_implicit_figures.John MacFarlane2013-01-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | * In markdown reader, add a '\1' character to the beginning of the title of an image that is alone in its paragraph, if implicit_figures extension is selected. * In writers, check for Para [Image alt (src,'\1':tit)] and treat it as a figure if possible. * Updated tests. This is a bit of a hack, but it allows us to make implicit_figures an extension of the markdown reader, rather than the writers.
* Added Attr field to Header.John MacFarlane2013-01-09
| | | | | | | | | | Previously header ids were autogenerated by the writers. Now they are generated (unless supplied explicitly) in the markdown parser, if the `header_identifiers` extension is selected. In addition, the textile reader now supports id attributes on headers.
* Don't put the text of an autolink in Code font.John MacFarlane2013-01-06
|
* MediaWiki writer: use `<code>` not `<tt>` for Code.John MacFarlane2013-01-04
|
* Remove newline after <br/> in translation of LineBreakBrent Yorgey2012-10-04
| | | | | | | There's no particular need for a newline (other than making the generated MediaWiki source look nice to a human), and in fact sometimes it is incorrect: in particular, inside an enumeration, list items cannot have embedded newline characters.
* Don't include empty captions in figures.John MacFarlane2012-08-04
| | | | Closes #581.
